Recalling 2011...

Its 2012 now, a year which as per some people will be the last year of this world. I don't know if it is true or not, but when it comes to me, i look forward to it positivly without expecting what will happen. Expectations when kept at lowest always brings peace and happiness when you do more than that.

2011 was something in which things happened for me first time in life. 2011 was filled with weddings, birthdays, events and some good byes. There were bad moments, which i don't recall much because i was told by someone that its the Happy Moments that stays and rest all vanishes with time. So i am letting the bad moments go away and just holding the sweet moments I had. Some of them which i am going to share here as a note for me to read and relive those moments.

WELCOME 2011...

2011 started on a very fun note, as it was first time after me moving to Qatar, i had people around me to celeberate New Year Eve. Avinash was also in country, and we had 3 senior people from our office with us at our place. It was a long night resulting to late punch-in at office. So year began with masti.

My Birthday...

People across the globe are confused about my date of birth due to different DOB's i have on my passport, certificates & Birth certificate. And i also don't help them by telling different dates to different people. LOLZ... As a result people start calling from 21st and calls continue till 23rd of March every year. Since 2 years Avi was watching it and this time he planned to teach me a lesson. I ended up cutting 4 cakes in 3 different parties. Who does that...?? But it was fun and made me feel good about me.

Avi's Wedding & Chandigarh Trip...

Finally the day came, when Avinash decided to settle down. It is always good to see friends getting serious about life and looking ahead. My Delhi visit to attend his wedding followed by my Chandigarh Visit was a total fun plan. 2 days of delhi, where met new people, made some good friends and top of it, was part of my buddy's happy moments. God Bless the couple with all the happiness.

Rahul Bhai's Wedding...

It was a long wait but finally it happened. My big brother found a perfect match and decided to tie a knot. His wedding gave me a very sweet bhabhi (more kinda sister now) who now gives me company in planning my mess while i am in Qatar. Someone with whom i share all my crazy ideas and she supports me with them. Hahahaa.... and moreover it was fun to fly down to kerala, meet family and also be a part of wedding, where you are busy with the activities. Moreover, i was the official DJ in the wedding.. LOLZ... that was fun as i killed people with boring music.

The count increased...

It started on a business note when i had hired a bunch of youngsters for a Nokia Event. Well didn't realise but these people became close pals for whom only prayers come out. One kid reminded me of my cuzin sis back in india, and when i told her, i realised i just made a bonding with her. Not related by any means, but still i found a sister in Qatar. And found couple of friends who are too cool and sweet at same time to hangout with me... They are another chapter of my life which i will remember.

Buying My Canon Cam...

The dream of owning a DSLR camera was there in heart for long time now but situation was never compatible for me to buy it. Finally a day came, when i finally had the money and a situation to use that money for my purchase. One of the very rare occassion when i spend money on what i want. A feel of satisfaction and then the fun of clicking, its priceless.

Dream finally achieved...

When i started my career at the age of 19, i had 2 goals in mind. To get my parents retired and to build a house for them in their place. First one was achieved 5 years back and the second was the difficult one. It took me a long time, but finally the day came when we finally moved into our new house. For me its a house of dreams, where i see my parents settled and relaxed, my nieces and nephews coming and njoiin their vacations, a place where i could go and spend my weeklong holidays. The feeling of fulfilling that task really makes me feel lighter and happier.

It also was a year when some people moved out Qatar leaving me alone for the time, but again i am not alone, because i have someone with me always. God has always taken care that even through tough times i stand and try to smile. 2011 taught me to be positive, believe in me and my dreams and to think from heart. Taking those points i move ahead for a better 2012 where i am going to take some risks. Hoping for only good, even in bad, praying for good for everyone, i continue my journey called Life.

Movies of 2011

With 2011 coming to an end, me and my friend decided to jot down a list of 11 Bollywood movies that we really liked in 2011. As we both are crazy about movies, the idea of writing a post on movies was a hit at its first mention itself. Coming back to the topic, I pulled out the list of bollywood movies in 2011, and found that many movies came out this year. But movies with big names also were not able to make noise were not strong enough to be appreciated by viewers.

I am not a movie critic or person who knows much of the technicalities of film making. But I believe in 2 things that a movie should have. First of all, while watching a movie, one should not look at his/her watch. You need not feel that time is not moving or it is too long. Secondly when you walk out of the cinema hall, one should have a smile of satisfaction that the money was well spent and you carry some good light moments of the movie with you as you leave. And that is how I ended up with the movies I am jotting down. Not ranking them because every movie was good at its own and had a different idea of its own.

ROCKSTAR

Well I will start with the Best that I saw this year and the movie that has gone into my list of my all time favorites.
3 People who are at best of what they do, came together with a team of very professional people and the outcome you saw was ROCKSTAR. Imitiaz Ali, Ranbir Kapoor and A R Rahman really prove that they are the best in the business. Ranbir did hell of a job as an arrogant and crazy Jordan while playing the cute and stupid Janardhan Jhakkar on the same page. Imitiaz Ali was at his best of story telling while Rahman rocked with his tunes. Rockstar was a total winner in 2011.

CHILLAR PARTY

This was a surprise for me and some of my friends also. A story a about a street dog and few kids who come out and stand against the whole society was something new and refreshing. A total entertainer with very good story telling which kept you hooked to your seats for whole movie. Now who expected that from a movie with no big stars to boast and no big production house backing it up. Kids proved that they are the stars and story is the essence of movies, not the big names. Well this one also got added into my list of movies which I can see anytime.

TANU WEDS MANU

Well this movie made me believe that you don’t need stars to carry a movie. Good actors and good story telling is enough. The way director captured the bride hunting for an NRI boy, the weddings, the lifestyle in Patna all was shot and told in a very nice way. Madhavan was simply at his best and did much of his dialogue deliveries through expression. Backed up by songs on background like Yun Hi and Rang rez, it was feel good movie for me.

NO ONE KILLED JESSICA
Many film-makers have tried to capture real life incidents on Reel but that is not everyone’s cup of tea. This movie might be forgotten by most of people, but this one was a Hard hitting movie which captured the Jessica Lal Murder Case and did justice to the whole matter without adding much of Masala to it. Rani did a great job and again proved why she is best in her field. The rude, arrogant and hard hitting reporter role was done in a terrific manner

ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DUBARA
Sometimes, you don’t like the movie at all and you think what the hell you are you doing sitting in theatre watching it but later when you think about it or you see the ending you feel, that was not Bad. That was my same reaction for ZNMD. Slow paced story telling did have a negative effect but again I liked the idea of makers telling us to live life without fearing about tomorrow, because you get to live only Once. The movie did fail at directorial level, but on acting part whole team did a great Job. And Shankar Ehsaan & Loy gave some good music for ears with this movie.

DON 2
I always look forward for Farhan Akhtars Movie and DON 2 was something I was waiting for long. Even though DON 2 didn’t come out to my level expectations, it was at PAR. SRK’s magic worked but the show stealer was the stunts and direction. DON 2 marks entry of Indian Cinema to a better version of action sequence and style of direction.

LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL
Yash Raj Films knows the taste of masses and they come with talents who can stand up to that expectation. Team of Band Baaja Baaraat came up together once again to bring out a fun film. A different plot, a guy thugs ladies and moves to one place to other was innovative. Ranveer as an actor proved that Band Baaja Baaraat was not a fluke and he is here to stay. The whole team did some good entertainment and this movie is a watchable affair. But one name I should mention is Parineeti Chopra, who was fun to watch. The loud acting really made me ROFL… :P

DELHI BELLY

Modern Indian Cinema is changing and Delhi Belly proves it. Backed up by Mr. Perfectionist, Delhi Belly was a simple story but told in a youthful way (which won’t be liked by most of our elders). It got famous for all the forbidden things starting from Bhaag D K Bose song to the highly abusive dialogues and ending with kissing scene of our Pappu (Imran) who seems to be now grown up ;-). Well it was an entertainer and it will be unfair if I don’t applaud the work of Vir Das and the show stealer Kunaal Roy Kapoor. I still don’t understand, why he doesn’t act in commercial cinema on a regular basis.

READY
Salman Khan movie, that itself says it all. Salman has rarely given a movie which is not an entertainer and is not for masses. Remake of a Telugu Film, the story was senseless but funny and to be true (I know people might disagree and call me crazy :P) but I enjoyed the movie. Asin was good at her comedy but Paresh Rawal & Salman Combo were on fire.

BUDDHAH HOGA TERA BAAP

Puri Jaganath like every fan of Big B wants to dedicate something to him. And what best you can give him than make a movie showing that yeah he is still a superstar. Big B added the charm by giving the Kool (Present version of Cool Style) attitude and awesome acting. Go Meera Song rocked and same way the movie rocked. A Big B fan myself, I loved it. Prakash Raj again proved that he is a terrific actor and even if he is standing up against Big B, he has his own enigma. Awesome one time watch where Amitabh Rocked the screen.

MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN

Yash Raj Production, Funny movie, no special formulae but the movie was an entertainer. I loved the cinematography and the way they captured Delhi. Some of the moments were very good, while some were ok, but you come out of the theatre, you had some funny scenes to discuss. So this comes in the list.

Other than this I would like to mention few names like RA One, Bodyguard, Yamla Pagla Deewana, FALTU, Aarakshan, Desi Boyz who were not at PAR but were not bad also. Some thing or other lacked it to make it something amazing but they all were watchable affair and they had put effort to bring out something good. And that is something one should appreciate.
These are the movies I liked in 2011 and looking forward for some Kickass movies in 2012. Lets see what’s in store… ;-)

As i said, it was me and my friend who came up with the idea of writing a post on the subject... Here is what she wrote... Worth a read... http://deepikagupta1987.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-likes-of-2011-movies.html

Day 1 - 1st Jan 2012

They say what you do in first day of year, keeps on repeating daily... Keeping that in mind I decided that i will avoid spending money on first day of the year. But my system forgot that i shudn't share that idea with everyone. I will tell you why

My colleague, who purchased a car on 30th Dec'2012, came to me and said "Dude! i will bring lunch today, Its my party."

"Cool Yaar!! You are one hell of a person. I can't imagine spending cash on first day of year, That also to treat people... "

And that party never happened... Well his light bulb lit and he acted...

So first day of year after losing a chance to get free food, i learnt -

Be smart but not share your smartness with everyone.. ;-)

I have heard that love should be something extra ordinary in this ordinary life. If you ask me that what love is, I can’t explain. But I do believe it is something which makes you just wants to live for someone else. It can be for you family, your friends and some times for some stranger.

So how do you know you are in love? Well I don’t know, at all. Neither I am writing this post to explain what love is? It’s a question that popped up in my head, and a question many people ask. Some people say they know, some are like me who say I don’t. But we all do believe that Love is something that is there in this human life. You might be thinking that why all of a sudden, I am writing on Love. Is it because I am in love? Well let me answer in a way that today I am writing because I wanted to write on this topic. All the way I am always in love with my life, my family, friends and yeah won’t deny that there is some special one. But let us keep it that way for the time.

Well generally Love is commonly used and discussed when it comes to a person who is unknown or have no relation with you but still you want that person to be happy and will do anything for his/her smile. One thing I know, that this feel is something no one can explain but this whole feel makes you very happy and makes you have a big wide smile even when you are in deep shit.

Writing about love, I would give my point of view about love. Unlike the latest trend, I follow the old school of Love, where you meet a person, whom you meet and slowly you realize that yeah he/she is perfect. Although that never means that he/she should love you back the same way. But then I feel happy that at least I found someone who I think is the One. Some years back, I used to think that love happen only ones, and if you lose it, you don’t fall in it again. But sometimes you find someone who sweeps you from your feet and you just skip your heart beat.

For me, the person I love needs not to be perfect because no one is perfect in this world. What matters is that she is happy, even if it is with some one else. Yeah people say it is easy to say, but again, nothing in life is easy. But if you really love a person, and it demands sacrifice or pain, it is worth it. Yeah Life is not charity but again, for me Love suppresses every rule in this world. And if the person accepts my love, then the motto is to be true to every word I have said to her.

Well that was my take on Love… What’s yours…??

Jaise Har Ek Friend Zaroori Hota hai, Vaise Har ek Boss Khadoos hota hai...!!!

Chai Ke Liye Jaise Toast Hota Hai
Vaise Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota Hai
Aise Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota Hai

Koi Subah Paanch Baje Neend Se Jagaye
Koi Raat Ko Teen Baje tak kaam Karwaye
Ek Teri Kadki Mein increment Kare
Aur Ek Tere incentive Mein deduction Kare

Koi Nature Se sweet.. KKoi Ghost Hota Hai..
Par Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota Hai

Ek thoda kaam de aur khud bhi Kare
Ek sirf kaam de Aur khud kuch na Kare

Office Ka Koi Ghoomta Phirta Satellite
Koi Saath Rahe To karde Sab Alright
Koi Effortless, Koi Forced Hota Hai
Lekin Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota hai

Ek Tere Idea Ko Apna Bataye
Aur Ek Tera Target Har Month Badhaye
Koi Nature Se Sadu, Koi Host Hota Hai
Par Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota Hai…

Senior Boss, Junior Boss
Ye Boss, Wo Boss…
Janey kaun Kaun Se Hain Yahan Pe Boss…
Gin Gin Ke Naam Bheja Roast Hota Hai
Par Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota Hai
Lekin Har Ek Boss Khadoos Hota Hai

HAR EK BOSS KHADOOS HAI YAAR

Ye Zindagi!!!

Ye Zindagi...

Hasaati hai Zindagi....
Rulaati hai Zinadagi....
Kabhi kabhi fasati hai Zindagi....

Kabhi yeh uthati hai Aasmaan tak....
To kabhi zameen pe girati hai zindagi....

Kabhi apna bana deti hai begaano ko....
To kabhi paraya kar deti hai apno ko....

Har ek mod, har ek manzar pe kuch naya batati hai zindagi....
Har ek lamha humein jeena sikhati hai zindagi....

Ye Zindagi...

I want to be Santa Claus!!!

In childhood, everyone is asked a question by most of the people.. "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
And everyone had a different answer, some want to be doctor, some say engineer, some say actor and blah blah blah.... Even i was asked this question many times, and everytime i had a different answer. Different answer because, what i really wanted to be was never taken seriously by anyone. And most of people don't understand the gesture even today.

I wanted to be a Santa Claus. Not that i wanna have a big tummy, a huge white beard but to be there for everyone. Even though Santa is a fantasy, i really wished if i could be someone like that. Isn't it great that there is a person who could be there for everyone, who could just bring smiles on the face of people around him, not thinking about the ROI (Return on investment), which used to be business term but now is a part of every single relationship a person have in his life. i really wanted to live that way and i tried. But being Santa is not easy as i thought. People are always doubting, thinking that i might take advantage of their helplessness in future. I may mock them, for being helpless in coming days. The fun is that some think i m stupid and they try to take advantage also of the genorisity. They just call me when they need me for something... :)
And some, who are really close to my heart deny thinking that i am just a distant relative and they should treat me that way. Taking my help might bring them some kind of guilt. This business, brings alot of smiles and lots of heart aches also. Lolz....

Life is pretty simple if we see. What i get in this whole business is happiness, that generally is so hard to get. Making friends with unknown people, being there when they are sad, being someone who could be of help in any way, it cherishes me and brings an inner peace in my heart, which if i am asked to explain, i can't explain in words. But in this materialistic world, happiness, joy, peace is something which people dont accept easily. We doubt every second guy whom we meet. Why?? If there is bad, there is good also. Why do we just see the bad side?

Well i still believe in my dream, my profession to be a Santa Claus. I did achieve somewhat when i hear my uncle call me Paropkari, :-P

Atleast i am doing what i want to do. What about you..??

We are a Family... :-)

Well let me warn you beforehand, this one is going to be a serious posts... Risk of being bored is high...

Growing up in a family where it was me alone spending most of the time with me, i used to get fascinated with friends of mine, who used to have a big family with parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters. I mean, it is fun to have someone to chit chat, to fight, to pull your leg or just being there around you when you are home. Some people argued to me that you don't get your own space and its always like everyone should be informed, but i never felt that. My one month free time that i used to have in my granny's place, it used to be my luckiest days for the whole year.

As i grew up i realised, you need not have real brothers nd sisters, but this world is full of people you can relate to. Friends, cousins, strangers, anyone human can be a family. Smile and just give love and you will get loved back. I also set out to make a family of my own, and today i have so many people whom i call sister, brother, aunt and uncle... Some are related in bloodline, some met due to destiny.... Some people welcomed with their hands open, while some looked at me asking, Who the hell are you... Back off dude... :P
For both of the kind, i always will be thankful because, someway or other you have touched my life and passed me some love and some lessons... :-)

Thank you God, for making me a part of a big family... where i find love, care and total freedom to say all my nonsensical talks... :P

Still on d way to have more smiles, have more fun, have more members in my family... :-)

India Trip - A day which was funny... :)

Name India in front of me and my face brightens up, yeah!! even in dark, my teeth glow if you name India. And dats wat excites me always when i m on my way to India.... Be it 5 days only, but i will fly in there to feel the pleasure and happiness which comes in from me.

And it was the same feel i had, when i landed delhi on May 13th, The friday... ;-). Well people say its a bad day and date combo but its never bad when i m on my way to India. My flight didn't crash so it was not a bad day. Pretty excited, as soon as i landed, i updated my FB status as Delhi. Neva knew wat was on the way becoz of that, but then it was funny. My life is cool and funny, and i love it this way. Thanks to god and prayers of the people i knw, i run into trouble but am saved evrytime. Hope it continues.
Landed delhi, my friend was there to pick me up with his cousin. Altho cuzin came up becoz of the booz i had purchased in duty free. lolz... Naaah, he is gr8 guy and he is now a part of my friends list. Now my friend told me that i am free to go around till lunch and in afternoon he will come to pick me and Tony.

Tony, this guy is a cool dude from US. He was also there for the wedding of my friend, for which i was flying to India. He had a connecting flight from Qatar, and i was in same flight so, we met. No, i am no suppa human to identify that he is going to same wedding i am going. My friend had informed me and given a brief description about him. Well i found him, in delhi on the way to immigration. Damn good guy, younger to me, calls me para (who creates trouble). People identify me so well... LOLZ. Well he and me shared the same hotel, so i had a company to chit chat.

Well we had time till afternoon, and Tony had jetlag so he slept, but how can i sleep. light bulb glows, again. And when this light bulb glows, i hav some very weird ideas. Well, my mom dad were on the way to chandigarh and there train would halt at New Delhi Railway station for 10 min. I thot to giv them a surprise, so got up and walked my way to the nearest metro. It was a 40 min metro ride and it was awesome. Stuffed in the whole bunch of people, i felt like i am on earth. When you compare it to Qatar, where, its all empty, very rarely you see kids playing outside, ladies sitting around doing chugli (bitching about people). lolz.... what all i like about india.

Well i din't mention, that when light bulb glows, there is always trouble also. Well i landed railway station, to realise that there is no mention of the train they are travelling. Although it was supposed to come there only, but nothing was mentioned. Then i called up my dad, nd he realised that i was in station, so the surprise was gone in drain. Altho they came, 1.5 hours late, but i met them, and then after 10 mins, i was again in the metro. My friend was calling me to inform that he was already at our hotel. Lots of nice words i heard because, he is the groom and he is missin from home because he is out there to pick his friend who is absconding. :-P

Anyways, i reached back, went to friends place, and dat tym i realised, my FB status has question marks and msgs of my friends asking me my whereabouts in delhi. This is the story which began when i updated my status to Delhi on FB. What to do, even sms started pouring asking my whereabouts. and then i thot of making them go around or country. My next status updates for 2 days were, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi. so if anyone asked me i told them, i was naming IPL teams. LOLZ... but i was not caught and many ppl still think, i was in Qatar.

Well it was d day one, and if i start writing the whole trip i will make Mr. Valmiki feel bad, that i am writing a longer epic than him. signing out for now but will come back. ;-)

Its all about Women... :P

Daily before i sleep i have a habbit of just reviewing my acts which i did that whole day. Although its too late to rectify them (if i cud, it wud take another day... :P) but atleast to self analyse and prevent the acts of stupidity as well mistakes in the future.

Yesterday i was doing the same when something struck me and I was enlightened. I have been told to arrange few girls for a road show we are planning to have in coming days. Now in Doha, where can i go and find girls. I went to my boss, and he suggested that ask this guy Mr. A, whos cousin came to our previous event.

Now i called Mr. A, and enquired about his cousin. He said, he will pass the message and then this girl contacted. Lemme name her Ms. G. Now Ms. G was a great help. She is a smart lady. She added me on Whats app (a msgr application) and we have conversed only on text. I had explained her the requirement and by the end of the day, i got around 4 calls from different girls who were ready to participate in the event.

Now you will think, what is the whole Big thing i realised from this. The fact which i realised when i was thinking about the whole journey of girl hunting was, whenever a girl called me, i IM'd Ms.G and thanked her. and then we used to chit chat for a while.

Now i was thinking, did i thank Mr. A who helped me find Ms. G?
NO!!!

But i thanked Ms. G like 'n' number of time. And i was at my sweetest best.

I realised, in the end that we Men, any type, any kind, when it comes to a girl, you are at your best behaviours and for Guys, you dont even care. :P

Tu Haaiiiiiiii Meriiiiiiiiiii Kiiiran.... ;-)

Title itself reminds every indian about a song which was a chartbuster for a long long time... For others, these are lyrics of a famous hindi song...

Coming back to the topic, well on my way back to my appartment today, this track came up on the radio and while listening to it, my train of thoughts began to whistle... :-p. Yeah, me thinking is quite unnatural but sometimes i do think... hehe...
And my train of thoughts took me back to 1993 september (yeah its train of thoughts, not a time machine, but i went to 1993 because that is when this song came out) it was on lips of every second person. Specially with the vella bandas (busy widout wrk ppl.. :P) who sit near girls colleges for an eye soother moment.
And if any girls name was Kiran, thats it, they were supposedly being called everywhere... :P Infact every girl was kiran during that period.... just to tease a girl, u just sing Tu hai meri kiran... (You are my kiran).

Now that is not i was thinking.... I was thinking is that what made Anand Bakshi ji (with all due respect to him) choose kiran. We know, in India films is like a religion and with this song, any girl name kiran was going to have fun trouble. Eve teasing and all... Why didn't he go for any other name.  So many names and only Kiran... Who was kiran...? did she ever ditch him...? even his wife's name was not kiran, so that probability is also gone...? this question remains a secret....

But with this act actually he brought all kirans to extinction... After this song coming out i think, i haven't heard people keeping Kiran name for their daughters. May be 2-3 people. like kiran rao, (wife of aamir khan) are the few species left with this name. Now, I blame Mr. bakshi for this. He initiated a nuclear reaction because of which Kiran is extinct now. Becoz of his enemity or hatred to the name (which is still a secret) now we can only hear about them in his song or we have to watch whole movie to see K K k k kiran... :P

Well it was a very useless train of thought (who won't be expecting that) but i thought i will share it with you...

Tu hai meri kiran... tu hai merii kiran....

Dude... When R U getting Married....

By the time you turn 26, you will find that whole world is now busy to find you a spouse and get you settled.

Now i seriously don't understand that why is this world so interested in getting me married...? Is it like if i don't get married, an asteroid will hit the earth and everything will get destroyed. If that's the case, i will love to get married. Then i will be the saviour of this world. I hope i need not wear underwear over pants. (Lolz)

I am not a commitment phobic but Man... give me a break. There are people who are in early thirties and still single. Get them married first... :P

Marriage is a responsibility and next step in life where you decide to live with the person your whole life ahead. Secondly, when the girl is coming with you, she is leaving all her past behind and has faith on you that you will be there with her everytime. There is love, faith, respect and so much of stuff... So where am i wrong if i say i am not ready.

So guys, lemme be single till i find a girl or meet a girl who can handle me and my craziness. :P

Encounters with Boss..

Boss: Why this matter is still not fixed?

Me: We have to meet the other party give them overview so that they approve the same. For this i need you to come along.

Boss: Then what's the problem. Fix a time to meet and then we can go to discuss the matter. Why don't you do these things yourselves.

Me: Sir, that's why i am enquiring about your availability. you fix 2-3 meetings at same time and then you ditch one of them. Last 2-3 times it happened when i fixed a meeting.

Boss: (gives me a smile) Yeah some times my calendar messes up. You fix a meeting anytime but inform me 48 hours before or atleast 24 hours minimum. Fix a meeting for tommorow at 9.30 in morning.

Me: Sorry sir, can't fix it tommorow 9.30.

Boss: Why? you have other appointments?

Me: No Sir, now it is less than 24 hours. You need to be informed 24 hours before a meeting. I can't take a risk. (i know i shudn't have said that, but it was fun to see his expression... :P)

Boss: Hahaha!! Stop cracking Jokes. Go and fix it for tommorow.

After our meeting, while talking to my colleague, i realised that this time our boss had ditched him. He had already a meeting for same time fixed 3 days back which he forgot and gave the time to me.

Bollywood with Arabic Tadka... :-P

I never thought that living in middle east would be so much funny but lately thanks to Zee aflam, I do have a good laugh every weekend. Bollywood have great fans here in Arab countries and Zee was smart enough to have a local channel where they play Hindi movies with Arabic sub-titles. Lately with increasing followers, they went one step further to cater the Arabic speaking population. Now they play some top grosser bollywood films dubbed in Arabic.

And you bet sometimes, you find it funny and sometimes you just want to break that TV. Yesterday I was watching Fanaa. This aamir khan flick is famous for the dialogues and the shayari aamir says during the whole movie. But yesterday what they were doing is still not clear to me. Even Rehan, name of aamir’s character when mentioned in Arabic, seemed like some bike passed besides me in jet speed. It was only Han Han which was being heard.

Another thing which they have done is that they only translated the dialogues, Phew!! What a relief. I can’t imagine they converting Chand Sifarish in Arabic. Anyways, now the whole while the characters know Arabic but when they sing they can sing in Hindi…..

Well the list is not small… you can see all the top stars speaking Arabic now. Dhoom, Dhoom 2, jodha akbar, rab ne banaa di Jodi, dostana and blah blah blah…. I now need to learn Arabic because now I don’t understand anything, and that tendency to see the movie leads me to download them and watch again… :-P

And King Khan going one step further by promoting the channel by speaking in Arabic... Bollywood Billa Arabia.....

Who am I...??

Sometimes, there are some questions which come up in my mind and keep on kicking up my grey cells.... I am at a point in my life, where I have everything what generally is looked for by normal people, a good job, a good car, a family who is happy because me catering their needs, everything is good but still there is something missing. I am not satisfied from life and I don't know what is that thing which will satisfy you.

In life, you sometimes lie to yourselves and you keep on believing them and live with it, but they come back from the grave and hit you on your face and you don't have any answer to it. You still as yourselves that what is your life worth... what is your destiny...? I am going through the same thoughts... Is this what i wanted..? And if thing i am doing is going as per plan then why i am not happy...

May be this is the human nature to be not satisfied with what they have. Am i getting more human? because i never thought i was. I do have goals but not long term or goals which are logical. The more I think, more i confused I get... Let it be... the answers are somewhere there... and i hope i will find them...

Baharain Weekly 9

11/4/2007

There are a very few songs I find "cute"... and the one I am listening to right now is one... Its mere piya gaye rangoon.

And whenever I said "Hey, I like this song".. The reply I usually got was a laugh or a statement "Rahul, tu toh paagal hai tera kya hai?" Its ok... nobody takes me seriously... But coming back to song I love the line when the singer states " Tum bin Janvary, Farvary bangaye jaise Mai aur June. Tumhaari yaad...." and with this song one of my days ended.

A day which was not very good.... just before turning on the radio I got a message from one of my friends that she is getting married.. Ouch!!! It hurt... anyways I am expecting a few more of this. Girls of my age have started getting married and every marriage will be an "ouch" for me.

So before the message I was in the office and a Pilipino Lady called me asking how to download phone themes on her computer... I guided her to the internet and asked her to open a website. I said

"Ok. Now type W W W…"

"W W W"

"Dot…"

"D O T"

"No No No, not D O T … just type a dot

"A dot?"

"Yeah.. aaam… a fullstop."

"What do you mean?"

"Ok. It's a very tiny thing. Like a circle"

"What are you saying?"

"Ok… Look on your keyboard under the greater than sign…"

"What sign?"

Shit "See, it's a point that usually comes after W W W"

"Aaaah… point, I know point." "Ok and then?"

"And then type Zedge. Z E D G E"

"What does that mean?"

One of my colleagues came in and I gave him the call saying that I have some work to do and the lady has a nice voice. She did have a nice voice it was only the things she said that were not so good

After 15 minutes, I bit my tongue while chewing a gum; I realized my colleague was thinking of me. I peeped out of my cabin and found him sitting with one hand holding the phone and the other holding his head. I could only hear his voice

"Is it he first time you are using the computer?"

"See. I will not be able to do it like this"

"Yeah… Can you come here and I will do it for you"

"No, I will not come there; I need you to come here"

"Here In our office in Mina Salman"

By the way, Mina Salman is the industrial area of Bahrain and known to almost all people in Bahrain, almost….

"You don't know Mina Salman?"

"How will you come by a taxi or will you drive"

"Good. Then tell the taxi driver you want to go to Nokia Office, Mina Salman. He will bring you"

"…. If that's the case you can call me from the Taxi"

"Ya Allah Bye"

I was glad that I didn't have to do all that and he was glad that it was over.

This call was within half an hour of entering the office and before I came to office I was ironing my shirt at home and it happened, I mean everyone of you might have had bad day starts but not as bad as this… just imagine you spread you shirt, and you connect the press to let it heat up and when you lift it up to iron

The whole damned thing opened up. Thanks to a cheerful mind I posses I had a mood to click its picture.

Oh and by the way my uncle's shirt is a perfect fit for me.

But I still thank God and am happy that out of the 8603 days I have lived, it just happened to me once and well there were other days in this week where good things happened. It was on a Thursday that I was watching TV and suddenly felt the urge to have " KHEER" now staying with my relatives I have to be careful of the fact that I am not too demanding but there has to be someway out… and

This is my brain bulb and it turned on.

Haritha (one of the angels) was coloring her rough notebook.

"Haritha, who do you think your mom loves more? Deepak or you"

"She loves me because she loves me and she loves me so much that she loves me and she loves me and also she loves me more than Deepu because Deepu loves me and mummy loves me and loves me mummy and….."

"aaaaa…. Ok ok but I don't think so. She loves Deepu more"

"No, She loves me because she loves me and also she lov ….."

"mmmm…. Maybe she loves you a little bit but would she do something if you ask to do?"

"Yes she will do it because she loves me."

"Hmmm….. lets see, Ok then ask her to make kheer for you"

"Even if I ask for a burger she will make it. I will ask for a burger"

"Anybody can make burger, even I can but kheer is only made for those who you love. Anyways you can ask for burger but that does not prove she loves you"

"Ok I will ask her to make kheer"

"Yeah and make sure you don't mention my name"

"Ok. But she loves me"

"We will see"

Haritha was right. Her mom does love her and I loved the kheer.

And along with kheer there is something else I love…… Zahra

She came to me one day and exclaimed

"Rahuuuuuuuuul, I have a gift for you"

"Is it? Whats it?"

"Not to easy. You have to say that I am the best"

"I am the best"

"No. Say Zahra is the best"

"Ok.Zahra is the best"

"Hmmm.. good. Now turn on the Bluetooth on your phone"

"Ok"

She searched for visible Bluetooth devices and when she found my phone she asked

"What is MOKSHA?"

"It's my phone's name"

"Yes. But what does it mean?"

"aaaaaam.... It means freedom from death and rebirth and freedom from all the limitations in the world"

"I didn't understand"

"It's ok. I'll change my phone's name to something like egg or table so that you can understand"

"Are you making fun of me?"

"I would never do that…. Aaammm the gift?"

"oooh yes, you talk to much Rahuuuuuuuull "

The file was transferred and when I opened it my phone started singing

"Humko Hami se churaalo, dil mai kaheen tum chupaalo, hum akele….."

"Its Indian song Na?" She asked

"It is"

"You like it?"

"Yeah its good. Thanks"

"Everybody asked from me this song. I only give you"

"That's so nice of you"

"Don't give it to anybody"

"Never"

I knew exactly to whom I was going to give the song.

That's it I guess for this week, seems to me I have written a bit too much and I just wanna thank all you guys out there to ask me to start the weekly again. Har paanch che editions ke baad ek aisa boost mil jaaye toh sahi rehta hai

Baharain Weekly 8

4/4/2007

Namaste India,

Welcome to the 8th edition of Bahrain Weekly,

Yahaan sab hamesha ki tarah mast chal raha hai, jo pehle nahi hota tha woh ab hone lagaa hai. Mera ek dost hai Anish naam ka woh kehta tha "Mote, tu jitna kum bhaav dega na ladkiyon ko woh utna hi tere peeche aayengi" and I have to admit ki woh sahi kehta tha

Zahra all of a sudden is friendlier, comes to me more often and talks to me more than her friend.
"Shlonik Rahuuuuuul" she said one day

"What? Rahul"

"Shlonik. It means, how are you?"

"Ok!! And how do you say I am fine"

"Ham Dul Ullah"

Oye this sounds like Amitabh Bachchan from Khuda Gawah "Habib Ullaaaaah" only this is a bit different"
"Ham dul ullah"

"Good. I teach you Arabic and you teach me your language. What is your language?"

"Malay…….. Hindi. It's Hindi"
Lekin baalike tu woh Menaka nahi jo is Vishwamitra ki tapasya bhang karde. Yeh Vishwamitra Neha ki prem tapasya mai lean hai"

Meri Cab mai bhi incidents hote rehte hai lekin is hafte to 2 bade sahi sahi hue

I sit in the cab for almost half an hour or forty five minutes and that's the time when Juhi (the RJ) is playing songs and these days they have slightly improved on the songs the play. There is a guy called Shakeel in my cab, nice guy but the only problem is that he has a misconception that he knows too much about Hindi films and he flaunts it. People sitting in the cab are impressed because they hardly know anything. Even I keep mum when he utters stupid things like "RD Burman ne Sharaabi film mai kya music diya tha. Too Good" for the people who don't know, Bappi Daa ne diya tha music. Lekin ek din…. Gaana chala

"Pehla Nasha, Pehla Khumaar Naya pyaar hai Naya intezaar…."
and as soon the lyrics of the song started Shakeel who was sitting right in front of me yelled,
"Waaah!! Qyamat se Qyamat Tak"

"Nahi. Dil" I said.

"Oh kya farak padta hai. Hai toh Aamir Khan aur Juhi Chawla Na"

"Dil mai Madhuri Dixit hai"

"Yaar dono mai Anupam Kher haina to mai us Anupam Kher ki wajah se hamesha confuse ho jaata hun"

(Hey bhagwaan!! Yeh aadmi hai kasaai hai? Ek khoon bus ek khoon to maaf hona chahiye insaan ko) "Achaaa…."

Aur doosri baar toh bahut hi sahi
Juhi boli, "….aap log agla gaana suniye MERI BHEEGI BHEEGI SI jo filmaaya gaya hai Sanjeev Kapoor aur Jaya Bachchan pe…."

Gaane ka music chaalu hua … taaan taaaaan taan taan taaan Meri bheegi bheegi si palko per eh gaye jaise mere sapne bikhar ke, jale man tera bhi kissi ki Milan ko……"

A guy called Biju who is usually silent decided to sing the song along

"…Anaaaaarkali tu bhi tarse"

It might not sound funny now but at that time it was hilarious. No other person noticed it though but I succeeded to control my laughter for about half a minute and then I laughed out, and then coughed to camouflage that.

OK.. And now for an announcement

Baharain Weekly 7

28/03/2010

Salaam Namaste,
Bahrain Weekly ke edition 7 mai aapka swaagat hai, Is weekly ke Caravan mai yeh ek aur Josh se bhara hua Joshila edition hai. Yahaan ka Mausam ekdum Mast hai, aur meri Aarzoo hai us desh ka musam bhi achha ho Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai . Neha achi hai aur Hamesha ki tarah Khoobsoorat bhi. Abhi tak toh maine Elaan nahi kiya ki Maine Pyaar Kiya aur abhi toh woh kehne mai Waqt legega lekin Baaton Baaton Mein yeh zaroor kehdunga ki Tumse Acha Kaun Hai aur agar koi Zehreela Insaan beech mai aaya aur koi Chotti Si Baat bhi iske khilaaf kahi, to Kasam Paida Karne Waale Ki us Dushman ka mai Murder kardunga.

Hey Ram ! Mujhe Pardes mai aake bhi ek Indian ladki se Ishq ho jaayega Socha Na Tha ab pata nahi yeh Silsila bhi kab tak chalega, abhi toh mai usko theek tarah se jaanta bhi nahi, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai ki Insaan Shaadi Ka Laddoo khaa toh leta hai Lekin phir kehta hai Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya, aur Shaadi Se Pehle hi Khushi thi, kyunki kaam chahe Hum Dono, Kareeb karte ho lekin hai toh Ajnabee. Isiliye Filhaal Tehzeeb se pesh aaunga jab tak aisi situation na aa jaaye ki Hote Hote Pyaar Ho Gaya, vaise agar Mohabbat ki baat ko rahi hai toh Zahra ke liye kehna chahunga ki Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge , aakhir hai toh woh mera first Love thi, ok atleast Bahrain mai aane ke baad toh thi. Ab hum dono Do Raaste par hai toh kya hua? Life Mai Kabhie Kabhie ho jaata hai, we are supposed to forget it and say Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. Life mai Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Ghum toh chalta rehta hai lekin inspite of all that Zindagi Rocks!!!!

Aaj kal toh bus jutaa hua hun koi Plan banaane mai Neha ke Pitaah ko pataane ka aur kehne ka unse ki Suno Sasurji, Papa Kehte Hai ki mai bahut Himmatwaala aur Namak Halal type ka ladka hun, to aap please Mughal-e-Aazam ki tarah hamaare Prem mai rukaawat na daalein aur isko green Traffic Signal dikhaa de aur agar zyaada Style maara toh Excuse Me bolke ek kaan ke neeche bajaaunga aur bolunga Mai Aisa Hi Hun, lekin usse pehle to Neha ko pataana hai, jo ki I am sure Ahista Ahista ho jaayega, Plan of action yeh hai ki pehle uska Aitbaar jeetna hai, taaki baad mai Aitraaz na kare, Kyunki Aksar Anari log Aparichit hone ke bawjood propose maar dete hai aur phir ladki ki Family se Daud te rehte hai. Par apun aisa Funtoosh nahi hai, Gupt tareeke se chorri se Dil mai apna Gharonda basaayega aur phir bolega Haan… Maine bhi pyaar kiya hai, dekha phir ki naa Baazigar waali baat, baaki akkhi Bahrain Hare Rama Hare Krishna karti reh jaayegi aur mai jaaunga Neha ke saath Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. main Holiday pe.

Chalo bahut ho gayi meri Love Story, yaar is Thursday, Swades ki badi yaad aayi, hamaara cab driver aaya nahi, to sab ko khud jaana tha, to maine apne collegues se pocha ki woh kaise jaayenge jawaab aaya Na tum Jaano na hum maine kahaan Dosti ki naate mujhe bhi saath le lena varna mai Bahrain mai bhatakta Musafir ho jaaunga kyunki yahaan mera kissi ke saath Parichay nahi hua, lekin Mere Apne collegues mujhe saath liye bina Nau Do Gyaarah ho gaye, Kyun Ho Gaya Na Thassa kahaa maine apne aap se, Mujhe to bahut bada Sadma lagaa aur mai Sadak pakad ke Chalte Chalte ghar pahuncha, agar Chandigarh ya New Delhi hota to ek Pukar pe mere saare Dost Saath Saath lene aa jaate mujhe, bus ab toh unki Yaadein reh gayi hai. Vidhaata mujhe Shakti de taaki mai Nishchay le sakun ki in sab ko Majboor kar dun ki yeh aayen mere paas aur Kahein Mujhse Dosti Karoge

Bade buzurgon ko pranaam,

Ladkon ko "hi"

Ladkiyon ko pyaar

HUM TUM milenge agle hafte

Tak tak Masti maaro

Is weekly Mai itna hai, aur vaise bhi mere paas kuch do hi films ke naam baaki bache hai,

Salaam-e-ishq,

Rahul

Baharain Weekly 6

21/3/2007

Namastey India ,

Welcome to the 6th edition of Bahrain weekly,

Sach bolun to when I started the 1st edition I didn't think it will reach the 6 th but mujhe kya pataa tha ki mai itna vellah hunga ki editions pe editions likhtaa jaaunga…

I know abhi tak to aap log bore ho chuke hoge mere in editions se, lekin come to think of it, mai phir bhi bhejta rahunga, you have have no choice but to read tit.

But this edition is one with a difference, all the editions prior to this have been funny trying to make you smile, but this one is serious and about a serious issue, I have realized something in the past week which I think I need to share with you all, Therefore this edition is about a subject with which all of you will be able to relate, a subject you all have thought about or experienced, or maybe even still experiencing, a subject that most of the girls reading this have felt for me, no no no no no no no I am talking about Sex Appeal, infact even boys who are reading this have had the feeling for me, noooooo not jealousy either. What I am trying to get to is love, yeah, and when I said boys have felt it for me I meant brotherly love, don't you dare take it the other way. Anyways getting back I am talking about LOVE, not the kind of love which you feel for your friends, parents or siblings but the doosra waala love which you feel for the opposite gender (usually) and want to spend the rest of the life waala love.

Now that love is a very big thing, and it's not a thing which one decides and does, it just happens, so before saying that you love somebody you have to be very very careful coz what you are saying might not be true as it is very easy to confuse infatuation with love, just as I did, I thought I love Zahra, but now I realize I don't what I felt for Zahra was just infatuation because she was so beautiful now that I have spent 2 months with her, now I don't feel for her the same way, now I am ok… even if I don't see her, I am ok if she talks to somebody else, I don't go to the Pantry every now and then to catch a glimpse of her, now I don't think about her all the time.

And moreover I have to think about how will we end up together, Zahra ke parents to chalo maan bi jaayenge jab itna achaa ladkaa chaahe woh Hindu hi kyun na ho usse Nikaah karne jaayega… lekin mere abbu aur ammi??? Kya who apne laayak bete ka haath kissi ZAHRA AL ZAFFAR ko denge… I don't think so… they would want me to marry some malayalee girl, and if not keralite atleast from India, and how does it matter to me me when I get beautiful girls in India also, beautiful like a rose, beautiful like the sea, beautiful like the ranbow

OR

Beautiful Like NEHA

Doston!!! Nayi ladki hai office mai, aur KYA CHEEZ CUT PIECE!!!!

Now you guys know ki mai itni badi explanation kyun de raha tha and why I stopped finding Zahra a bitt less beautiful than earlier

Neha Chahal from Himachal Pradesh and … the best part is that she speaks Hindi… and obviously out of all the "YUM" saying malayalees she is going to choose a "M" saying Northie. Andhon mai Kaana Raaja…

Introduction to ho chukaa hai uske saath, naam poocha pehle maine usa

"My name is Neha. Neha Chahal"

"Hi, I am…." (Raul?? No.)…."Rahul"

"Oh … so you are from Kerala?"

"Just born there, lived in Chandigarh and you are from….."

"Simla!! Himachal Pradesh."

"Oh ok. So which department have you joined" (Service! Service! Please say service)

"Accounts and you are in which department?"

(Oye hoye!!! Kaash thoda aur dhyaan diya hota twelfth class mai to mai bhi accounts mai hota ) "I am in service department, I take care of the accessories and data support" (and I earn enough to take care of you after marriage)

to aise hui jaan pehchaan… line kaafi clear hai koi language problem nahi, koi competitor nahi, Hindu hai aur obviously bahut zyaada pyaari hai… do saal badi hogi mujhse… lekin Pyaar Umar nahi Dekta… Kamar dekhta hai"

He! He! He! He! He! He!

Haan toh main baat toh yeh hui hai.. ki maine ab convert hone ka plan drop kardiya hai.

Aur ek aur baat hui hai…. Ek sardar ji ne bhi office join kiya hai

GURBAKSH SINGH naam hai… pehle toh mai bada khush hua… lekin…

People seem good to you until they start speaking that is why they sat Light travels faster than sound.

Hanji, by god, Bahut bolta hai who aadmi… chalo acha hai .. baat karo… lekin maarte kyun ho…

Kuch military background se hai.. to kuch bhi hota hai… to peeth pe ek aad maar ke bolte hai…. Thapaaaaak!!!

Thapaaaaak!!! "Oh yaar Rahul kal India di performance vekhi si tun? #$#%^#%# Bangaaliyon ke saath har gaye"

(Yaar, woh nai khele toh mujhe kyun maar rahe ho) "Hmmm… Bangladesh kaafi acha kheli."

Monday ko India ne 413 run score kiye ha…. Uske thappad shaaayd aaj khaaunga mai… mila nahi hun unse ab tak.
